10 Incredibly Instagrammable Cafes in Singapore

How important is ambiance when you’re looking to get your caffeine fix? We don’t know about you, but we’d much rather sip our java (or vino) and enjoy tasty bites in beautiful, light-filled cafe than slurp away in a soulless space. And of course, if you’ve seen our UJ Instagram feed, you know we’re all about getting those great shots! Singapore has tons of great cafes to choose from, but if it’s gorgeous decor, design, and presentation you’re after, then get your camera ready because these cafes are oh-so Instagrammable.

Baristart Coffee

Coming to us by way of Hokkaido, Baristart offers a feast for the senses with a contemporary space kitted out in cool dark bricks, gorgeous lattes styled by a team of expert baristas, and enticing Japanese culinary creations. If you’re a coffee nerd, this is your spot because they use only the highest quality beans for their brews and special BIEI Jersey milk imported from Japan, which gives the lattes and cappuccinos a super rich and creamy texture and taste.

Baristart Coffee Singapore, 65 Tras Street, Singapore 079004. p. +65 6904 3169. Open daily 10am – 10pm

The Bistrot at House of AnLi

It may be in a mall, but there’s nothing generic about the Bistrot at House of AnLi. On your way in you can peruse elegant homewares and artisan tableware in the retail space before entering the eye-catching bistrot with its sophisticated European furnishings, quirky artworks, and floor-to-ceiling windows facing tropical foliage. Grab an Allpress coffee or glass of champers, then dig into divine dishes like the beetroot risotto, beef cheek in Belgian beer sauce, and homemade tarts.

Take your pick of seven different stations including the Espresso Bar, Tea Academics Bar, Culinary Counter, Custom Blend Concierge, Roasting Corner, Cupping Corner, and Hand Brew Bar. No matter which one you choose, you can be sure you’ll get a perfect pour made from premium beans and tea leaves.

Curious Palette

Brought to us by the peeps behind Stranger’s Reunion, Curious Palette is the place to be if you want to watch top-notch baristas whip up beautiful brews. The space itself is done up in neutral tones with lots of smooth concrete and a long counter with state-of-the-art coffee-making equipment. The all-day breakfast dishes are the ticket here, and they look just as incredible as they taste. Take for example the Berry Ricotta Hotcakes topped with fresh multi-coloured berries, crunchy pumpkin seeds, and creamy vanilla bean ice cream.

Just like the name suggests, The Glasshouse is an all-glass structure that houses a chic coffee shop and toast bar. The ambiance is lovely with tons of natural light, lush greenery inside and out, and seating along the counter in front of the baristas or by the windows. The coffees rotate regularly, so you can try different beans every time including some from little known producers around the region. Be sure to try the tasty toasts like the Avocado & Dukkah with hummus and feta.

Lumine

At first glance Lumine looks like a vibrant fashion boutique, and it very much is. But you’ll also find an inviting cafe within this multi-concept lifestyle space. Spend some time perusing the racks for contemporary pieces by brands like Lily Brown, Tomorrowland, and Spick & Span, then head to the cafe for lovely lattes, fruit parfaits, and fresh juices. We love the thoughtfully placed charging stations at the communal tables and counters, which are great for rebooting your phone and posting Insta pics as you refuel.

Head to the restaurant section and you have plenty of seating options under the exposed pipes including long communal tables, cozy booths, and tables for two. Everything on the menu is made from scratch in house and artfully presented with options like granola bowls for brekky, colourful salads and grain bowls for lunch, and substantial grilled meats and veggies for dinner.

PS Cafe One Fullerton

There are numerous PS Cafes all over the city, but in our opinion the One Fullerton location is by far the most scenic. Step inside and you find plenty of space to move around with comfy alcoves set next to huge glass windows that overlook the water. There’s also a breezy patio where you can enjoy some fresh air as you sip your iced coffee or glass of wine and nibble on bites like the famous truffle fries or spaghetti crab ‘mee goreng’.

There’s so much to love at The Social Space, a cool socially conscious cafe that doubles as an eco-friendly shop. The decor is tropical chic with rattan furniture and colourful tiles, and the huge glass windows allow plenty of natural light to pour in. Settle in with an artisan tea and some tasty sweet treats. You can also grab ethical products to take home like coffee cups made by special needs folks, environmentally-friendly cleaning products that you can refill in-store, and fair-trade fashion, jewellery, and housewares.
