Employees Only

It might be new to the cocktail bar scene in Singapore, but do not call Employees Only a baby. They’ve been going for 10 years now in New York City, and the Singapore outlet is the famed cocktail bar’s first outside of the Big Apple. Employees Only SG is modeled largely after the Employees Only in NYC and sees the same curved bar. Together with his head bartender Steve Schneider and Executive Chef Julia Jaksic, co-founder Igor Hadzismajlovic transports you into a privileged drinking waterhole, where bartenders are clad in white chef’s jacket and the cocktails come fast and furious. The vibe at Employees Only is intimate and classy, but it’s not stiff, and for somewhere where you can also get a good dinner in, it’s no wonder it’s where we love to work and play.

Why you should come here:

To sit on the prized bar seats, and watch the slick bartenders at work, chat with Steve about his life, and watch Igor maneuver the crowd with practiced patience and genuine hospitality.

What we love:

Classic cocktails like the Manhattan just taste different here. As for the food, the steak tartare is a must.

UJ tidbit:

Employees Only is strict on the wait list and reservation policy, on weekends, it’s best to make a reservation. Don’t play the I-know-the-owner card, because we all know him and we still play by the rules.

Where: 112 Amoy Street, Singapore 069932

Opening Hours: Monday – Friday 5pm – 1am, Saturday 5pm – 2am, Sunday 6pm – 1am
