Super Loco

Fancy some cheeky margaritas and tequila shots after work? Grab your amigos and head to Super Loco, a fun and festive Mexican spot run by the same guys behind Lucha Loco. They’ve got two locations, one at Robertson Quay and the other at Customs House, but we prefer the Customs House location for its breezy patio overlooking the water and its slightly more sophisticated, but still easy-going vibes. When it comes to Restaurants in Singapore with Good Buzz, Super Loco definitely makes our list.
Why you should come here:

Just like its sister spot, there is nothing pretentious about Super Loco. The service is friendly, the tequila and mezcal-based drinks flow freely. The guys who created this place really did their homework while travelling the streets of Mexico City, through Guadalajara and up Mexico’s west coast, so you’ll find plenty of rare tequilas and mezcal and a mix of classic and modern Mexican dishes.

What we love:

This is a great place to hang out after work when you’re looking to let loose with a few drinks among good friends. It gets pretty busy, so the atmosphere is always lively, and there are tons of options to choose from when you need something to soak up all that booze.

We love the Blueberry and Acai Margarita with tequila, blueberry, acai, lime, agave and mint and the Smoky Ron de Banana with Plantation dark rum, banana, honey, cinnamon infused mezcal, black walnut, chocolate and orange bitters. For those who prefer something a little more straightforward, they also have a selection of wine, Mexican beers and premium spirits.

If you’re hungry, choose from the variety of the taco selections. Our favourite taco is the De Cangrejo with crispy soft shell crab, barbecued pickled pineapple, radish and lime mayo.

UJ Tidbit:

The Super Loco at Robertson Quay does a wildly popular brunch on the weekends with hangover-helper dishes like the Breakfast Burrito with spicy marinated chicken, scrambled egg, cheese, quinoa, black beans and chipotle mayo and the Pulled Pork Torta with slow braised pork shoulder, apple slaw, refried beans and habanero mayo. And if you’re in the mood for a little re-toxing, they’ve also got Bloody Marias, sangria and tropical fruit cocktails.

Damage:

Cocktails fall in the $15+ to $19+ range, tacos range from $8+ to $14+, and they do set Chef’s Selection dinners with five dishes for $45+ per person or seven dishes for $64+ per person.
